The MarineFAST® MX Series is a line of Type II Marine Sanitation Devices (MSDs) engineered to treat blackwater and graywater on commercial vessels with up to 65 crew members. With a compact, all-in-one design, these systems are ideal for installations in areas with limited headroom or access, such as shaft alleys and machinery rooms. Fully USCG certified and compliant with IMO MEPC.159(55), the MX Series offers a space-efficient, plug and play solution for reliable marine wastewater treatment.

How It Works

The MX Series treats onboard sewage using a self-contained process that supports safe and compliant discharge at sea.

  • Sewage Inflow: Wastewater flows directly into the system. No macerator or screens are required.

  • Aeration and Treatment: A compact blower sends air through internal piping to an airlift system. This circulates and oxygenates the tank. Microorganisms grow on fixed media and break down organic waste.

  • Disinfection: Treated effluent flows through a disinfectant system, using either tablets or liquid, and then into a contact tank for retention. Float switches manage water level and pump operation.

  • Effluent Transfer: A discharge pump moves the disinfected water to open sea. Alternative discharge options can be configured.
